We are The Dish — a local Christian organisation dedicated to serving the Hornsby community with food, friendship, and inclusive support.
We:
Provide nourishing meals for up to 40 people every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday night, all year round.
Foster genuine friendships and create a welcoming, non-judgmental community for those experiencing vulnerability, isolation or homelessness.
Run our Community Food Care Program, rescuing fresh food from local supermarkets and bakeries that would otherwise go to waste, and stocking our Community Pantry to support those in need.
Welcome everyone without question — we don’t ask why people come to us; we’re simply grateful they do.
If you would like a healthy, free meal, then you have come to the right place.
At 5:30pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, we will serve you a nourishing two course meal with a chat at 207 Peats Ferry Road Hornsby, St Peter's Anglican Church. Here we are on the map.
We rescue edible surplus and unsold food from 6 local supermarkets and keep a well stocked community pantry.
If you are or know of someone that is struggling and could use some assistance with groceries, fresh fruit & vegetables please register here. See our Food Care Program page for more information.
Without our volunteers, the work of The Dish would not be possible.
